Alabama‘s offensive line has remained in flux early in the season as a handful of injuries have impacted availability along the front.

Offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor has yet to play in a game this season, though coach Kalen DeBoer has noted he’s getting closer to playing. Proctor has warmed up at least partially prior to the last two games.

“Yeah, he’s been practicing and he’s doing well,” DeBoer said Wednesday on an SEC teleconference call. “He’s doing a good job. Really was heading in a really good direction right at the very end of last week and turned the corner, I think, there and is in a good spot here. Done a nice job here in the first two days of practice.”

Getting Proctor back would be a huge step for the offensive line, as he can anchor one of the tackle spots when healthy. His potential is through the roof.

But he’s not the only tackle type that has been dinged up of late.

Elijah Pritchett missed the first few quarters against USF with an injury he sustained in the season opener against Western Kentucky, one that not many people knew about until he was missing on Saturday.

Pritchett did play the final quarter against USF and seemed to fare well, which gives Alabama confidence he’ll be all the way back on the offensive line this week for a road trip to Wisconsin.

“We’re still working through the plan, but he finished the game out on Saturday and really had no more setbacks, which was great,” DeBoer said. “Something that we were just concerned about and didn’t want that to hold him back. He’d worked very hard from the week before, an injury that people weren’t aware of just because of the way the score was. He’s in a good spot right now as well.

“So we’re working through that plan and just the rotation with the offensive line.”

Alabama and Wisconsin will kick off at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday with a broadcast on FOX.
