Kadyn Proctor injury update: Latest on Alabama offensive lineman revealed
Kadyn Proctor was a late scratch from Alabama‘s season opener against Western Kentucky. A shoulder injury occurred during pregame warmups, causing the second-year player to miss the entire game. Head coach Kalen DeBoer went on to describe the left tackle as day-to-day, giving him a chance to play Saturday against USF.
However, it sounds like the Crimson Tide will have to take the field without Proctor again. DeBoer gave an update just under an hour before kickoff from Tuscaloosa, saying Proctor will not be in uniform.
“Probably looking right now like he won’t be suited up for the game,” DeBoer said pregame via CTSN radio.
Alabama facing USF brings back memories of last season’s game, one quarterback Jalen Milroe did not play in. Nick Saban’s squad escaped Tampa with a win, being on serious upset alert for four quarters and through a weather delay. Not many on the Crimson Tide roster had a great day.

Everybody was hoping to right what they felt went wrong in 2023, Proctor included. Instead, he will be watching from the sideline and cheering his teammates on. Elijah Pritchett was a last-minute bullpen call at left tackle against Western Kentucky but should be more prepared for the role on Saturday night.

Proctor will continue his recovery and hopefully continue to be on the day-to-day timeline DeBoer put him on. Alabama heads up North to Big Ten country next week for a massive nonconference matchup against the Wisconsin Badgers.
No matter the opponent, having your starting left tackle on the road is critical. And in a place like Camp Randall where the fans can get rowdy in Madison, being at full strength will be the training staff’s key goal.
First, taking care of business against USF is on the agenda. Alabama will kick off from the newly named Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium at 6 p.m. CT in what should be a fun contest.
