Five-star tight end Kaiden Prothro is ready to shut down his recruitment.

On Monday, the Bowden (Ga.) star told Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman that he is down to Florida, Texas and Georgia after his official visits. He will announce his commitment on July 12 between those three programs.

Prothro also took OVs to both Alabama and Auburn, but those schools are on the outside looking in a little more than three weeks away from his decision.

Georgia, the in-state school, has been considered the biggest threat to land him for some time. And after the official visits, the ‘Dawgs are still on top.

“I’d say it’s pretty close right now,” he told On3’s Steve Wiltfong on Monday. “I’d probably still say Georgia has the lead and then Texas and then Florida. Doing my research till I commit.”

The 6-foot-6, 220-pounder is the No. 29 overall prospect in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 2 tight end and No. 4 recruit in the state of Georgia.

As a junior, Prothro put together an eye-popping stat line with 1,203 yards and 21 touchdowns on 56 receptions for Bowdon.
