Alabama created the acronym “LANK” — let all naysayers know — under Nick Saban but current head coach Kalen DeBoer is embracing the mindset. According to FanDuel, No. 2 Georgia is a 1.5-point favorite against the Crimson Tide.

To DeBoer, oddsmakers are just another set of naysayers to silence. On Monday, DeBoer revealed how his team is utilizing a LANK mentality as they prepare to square off against the Bulldogs.

“It’s no one’s fault that that’s the case,” DeBoer said. “But obviously there’s gonna be, even if there’s one doubter, right, that falls along with the LANK mentality… That’s what we get to do, is let any of the naysayers know what we’re capable of.

That’s a tribute in what people see in Georgia, and how high-level of a football team they have, and to their credit, that’s exactly what they are,” DeBoer continued. “And to us, that’s just a matter of doing what we can do. And making sure we present the best version of what we can be on Saturday.”

Alabama will be well-rested for its showdown against Georgia. The Crimson Tide enjoyed a bye in Week 4 following a convincing 42-10 blowout win against Wisconsin.

In the win, quarterback Jalen Milroe looked like a Heisman Trophy frontrunner, notching 196 yards and three touchdowns through the air while adding 75 yards and two scores on the ground as well.

The Crimson Tide’s defense was stout in the triumph, holding Wisconsin to 290 total yards. Further, they forced the Badgers to commit two turnovers, both of which were fumbles.

Alabama has won eight of its last nine meetings against Georgia. On Saturday, Kalen DeBoer and Co. have a chance to remind the country why Alabama is a perennial powerhouse.

“We feel like we have a football team that is a top-tier team that just everyday is going to continue to get better,” DeBoer said. ” That’s not just this week, that’s not just next week — that’s all season long. We really feel the sky is the limit.

“You have to catch some breaks along the way, whether that’s health or big moments in games that get the swing in your favor. You create those breaks. That’s, again, just us going to work, focusing on the main thing, focusing on ourselves, focusing on us. That’s what matters the most.”

On Saturday, Alabama and Georgia will square off at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will air live on ABC.
