There are a lot of new names in general at Alabama for this season to go with the returners on the roster. They’re now all as important as the other for this debut year to work under Kalen DeBoer.

DeBoer spoke about the contributions over the first two games from the Tides’ newest members during his postgame press conference following their 42-16 win over USF on Saturday. He noted that they’re coming from all ages and from varying levels of collegiate experience.

However, they have the veterans to lean on Tuscaloosa. There was still plenty set from year’s past at ‘Bama for them to just learn from those who came back this offseason amidst the coaching change.

“The foundation is still all the guys that have been here, you know. They understand the standard, they understand that and the leadership down in the locker room, whether it’s halftime or it’s the end of the game,” said DeBoer. “Just, you know, holding each other accountable, including themselves, but also, you know, showing that, hey, we can be better. Look what would happened if we just played our game, did our job and did it the right way.”

Alabama needed some different standouts with all the portal transactions they underwent both on and off of their team. They’re now getting them too with how they’ve played through a pair of games this fall.
