Maize (Kan.) three-star wide receiver Bryson Hayes has flipped his commitment from Nebraska to Kansas, he announced on Saturday evening.

He was pledged to the Cornhuskers since April 14 but is in Lawrence this weekend and is now set to stay in-state and play for the Jayhawks at the next level.

Hayes is the No. 968 overall prospect and No. 150 WR in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 9 player in Kansas.

The 6-foot pass-catcher watched KU take down ranked Iowa State for its biggest win of the season on Saturday and promptly entered the fold for head coach Lance Leipold and Co. He becomes commit No. 15 for the Jayhawks this cycle.

Hayes was one of three wideouts in Nebraska’s 2025 class. The Huskers still have a top-25 class in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and still posses pledges from four-star WR Isaiah Mozee and three-star WR Tanner Terch.

More on Kansas Recruiting

The Jayhawks still have plenty of work to do on the recruiting trail, as their class ranks just No. 64 in the nation, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. With the Early Signing Period less than a month away, KU is still without a blue-chip prospect in its class.

Edmond (Okla.) Memorial three-star quarterback David McComb has been in KU’s class since July 27, 2023. The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder is now the No. 32 QB in the cycle, as well as the No. 10 player in Oklahoma.

Sarasota (Fla.) Cardinal Mooney three-star cornerback Chris McCorkle, a former Indiana pledge, committed at the beginning of August and is a top-50 corner in the cycle. He’s one of three Sunshine State recruits in the class, alongside Milton Pace three-star tight end Joeseph Skipworth and Fort Myers Cape Coral three-star safety Darrion Jones.

Other top commits in the class include: Waukee (Iowa) three-star linebacker Malachi Curvey, Cypress (Texas) Christian three-star running back John Kelly, Tulsa Union three-star EDGE Josiah Hammond and Buford (Ga.) three-star LB Kenyon Rivera.
