Kansas State starting OT Carver Willis plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal

Kansas State redshirt senior offensive tackle Carver Willis plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Willis has started 18 games and played in 35 overall during his five seasons with the Wildcats. In 2023, he played in all 13 games with starts in each of the first seven, earning All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors from the league’s coaches.
He appeared in 11 games in 2024, starting each, as Kansas State finished 8-4 and boasted one of the nation’s best rushing offenses.
The 6-foot-5, 291-pounder will have one year of eligibility remaining at his next destination.
As a prep prospect, Willis was the No. 951 overall player in the the 2020 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The college football transfer portal is scheduled to be open for 30 days during the 2024-25 academic year. The portal will open at the end of the regular season, the day after the College Football Playoff field and bowl games are announced. According to the NCAA, the portal will open for business Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, and close on Dec. 28.
The spring window in April remains. The portal will only be 10 days, lasting from April 16, 2025, and shutting down on April 25, 2025. The transfer portal will open for 30 days whenever a head coach leaves their program, allowing athletes to leave and decide on their future, according to NCAA guidelines.
