Four-star combo guard Kayden Mingo has narrowed down his list of schools to two ahead of his commitment day. The 6-foot-1 senior out of Long Island Lutheran (NY) is now looking out Penn State and Wake Forest after previously considering Georgia and Virginia Tech. Mingo will announce his college choice Friday, November 1st on The Breakfast Club.

Mingo is the nation’s No. 44 overall prospect, No. 4 combo guard and No. 2 recruit from New York in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Mingo talks Penn State, Wake Forest

In a previous interview with On3, Kayden Mingo discussed both the Nittany Lions and the Demon Deacons.

Penn State: “The visit was excellent overall. The energy at Penn State is second to none. The program is great, I really enjoyed watching their practice. The facilities were beautiful and they really impressed me also. The coaches told me they plan on me coming in and they want me to be their point guard and run the show.”

Wake Forest:  “Coach (Steve) Forbes is my guy. He definitely lets his guards go and plays with a lot of freedom. He also definitely has pro experience with some of his guys. The ACC is a really good conference. The way that Coach Forbes lets his guards play and run the team and be the motor of the squad, I like that a lot.”

Mingo played with the PSA Cardinals on Nike’s EYBL Circuit this summer, averaging 12.3 points, 4.2 assists, and 2.1 steals.
