Kaydn Proctor spotted in street clothes, sling on left arm
The Kalen DeBoer era is officially here in Tuscaloosa, taking on Western Kentucky at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Before the game could officially kick-off, there was some bad news surrounding Alabama and their potential starting left tackle, Kadyn Proctor.
He was spotted in street clothes on the sideline, meaning he will not play on Saturday night. A sling is on Proctor’s left arm as well, with the injury taking place during the pregame warmups.
“Kadyn Proctor is in street clothes with his left arm in a sling,” Charlie Potter of On3’s BOL said via X.
Proctor had a whirlwind of an offseason, transferring to Iowa from Alabama following Nick Saban’s retirement, before returning after spring practice. Despite starting at left tackle all season for the Crimson Tide, Proctor spent fall camp competing for the job alongside Elijah Pritchett.

At the time of posting, the extent of the injury is not yet known. More likely than not, nothing will be released until DeBoer speaks to the media following the game. For now, Pritchett will occupy the left tackle position to protect quarterback Jalen Milroe.

It’s where the offensive tackle feels most comfortable, which is why he returned to Tuscaloosa after transferring to his home state Iowa Hawkeyes earlier this offseason. One of the main reasons he cited for transferring away from Alabama earlier this offseason was that he was homesick.
“Obviously, I’m away from my family but sometimes there are sacrifices you have to make to be happy,” Proctor said.
The offensive lineman recalled that about a month or two into his freshman season, Tuscaloosa started feeling like it wasn’t the place for him. However, Proctor said that’s in the past, and him and head coach Kalen DeBoer have talked it out upon his return to the program.
“I had apologized because I knew that when he first came here, his first week here, first couple of days, I really wasn’t giving him a chance,” Proctor said. “And I just kind of started that conversation with an apology because I really felt bad. I kind of had my mind set on leaving and [was] not really listening to what he had to say to me.”
