Alabama QB signee Keelon Russell out for remainder of Under Armour All-America Game
After taking a big hit and getting rolled up early in the third quarter of the 2025 Under Armour All-America Game, Alabama Five-Star Plus+ quarterback signee Keelon Russell is out for the remainder of Thursday night’s action.
The 6-foot-3.25, 182-pounder out of Duncanville (Texas) told the ESPN broadcast that he was sitting out the remainder of the second half, but that he was “fine” after getting carried off the field.
He took a big hit from 2026 four-star DL JaReylan McCoy after completing a pass to Florida wide receiver signee Vernell Brown III. Russell finishes the game with 120 yards on 7-11 passing. He also ran for 11 yards.
Russell is the nation’s No. 2 overall prospect and No. 2 QB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He signed with Alabama last month after flipping to the Crimson Tide from SMU this summer.

Entering Thursday’s game, Russell was tabbed as the top QB in the event by On3’s Charles Power:
“Through two practices, Keelon Russell has been the clear top signal caller at Unde Armour. The Five-Star Plus+ prospect has lived up to the lofty billing, showing a live arm and advanced accuracy. Russell has delivered well-placed, catchable throws for much of the first two days. The ball jumps out of Russell’s hand. He appears to have continued adding velocity to his passes since we saw him in person at the Elite 11 Finals over the summer. Russell consistently delivers a tight spiral and has had no issues developing timing with his receivers.
…He was surgical during the 7-on-7 period on Tuesday. Russell hasn’t been totally perfect and will have to add significant mass to his lean frame in order to hold up at the college level. With that said, he is putting together a strong showing at Under Armour – one that builds on a senior season that saw him named the Gatorade National Player of the Year.”
