TyTy Washigton and Sahvir Wheeler injury update

During his postgame press conference after defeating LSU 71-66 Wednesday night, Kentucky head coach John Calipari revealed the latest injury update on TyTy Washington and Sahvir Wheeler ahead of an important road trip against Arkansas this weekend.

“They may not be ready in two days,” said Calipari, via KSR’s Tyler Thompson. “We may have the same team going down to Arkansas.”

Washington is currently dealing with a leg injury while Wheeler recovers from a wrist ailment. The duo not only combines to score 22 points per game for Kentucky but also adds 11.2 assists and just 4.7 turnovers.

As a freshman, former five-star recruit TyTy Washington has emerged as a potential lottery pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. In 25 games, he averages 12.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists with 1.2 steals. Wheeler, a Georgia transfer, is averaging 9.6 points, 7.1 assists and 1.3 steals this season.
