According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Kentucky defensive lineman Keeshawn Silver is down to four transfer destinations, including an ACC, SEC, and two Big Ten programs. Florida, Miami, Michigan, and USC are still in contention to add Silver to their 2025 roster.

Nakos adds a visit schedule is still being worked on by Silver. One of the top names in the NCAA transfer portal has made a step forward in his recruitment.

Silver is ranked the No. 31 overall player and No. 2 defensive lineman per the On3 Industry Transfer Portal Rankings, at the time of posting. He is ranked a four-star prospect in the portal and based on the schools going after him, highly coveted by teams hoping to compete at a national level.

In 12 games this season, Silver recorded 26 tackles, one sack, and one tackle for loss. An improvement from his first season with the Wildcats, totaling 43 tackles, one sack, and three TFLs in Lexington. Kentucky was considered one of the SEC’s top defensive line units throughout the year and Silver certainly played a big role.

This is not the first time Silver has gone through the transfer process. His career began with North Carolina, signing with the Tar Heels out of high school. Silver spent two years there before moving into the SEC and playing for Kentucky.

Silver played high school football at Rocky Mount (NC) High School, where he was a five-star prospect. He was the No. 22 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Now, those four teams are hoping the talent can translate even more heading into Silver’s fifth year of college football. One of Florida, Miami, Michigan, or USC will wind up winning out for the defensive lineman, a position tough to find quality in through the portal.
