Ole Miss is also off to a 6-3 start in SEC play, which is the best start to conference action since the Rebels started 2021 7-2. They’ve been helped by some nuclear bats and offensive fireworks down the stretch, as they rank seventh in the country in home runs with 58 so far on the year, tied with Florida State.
As the transfer portal reshapes college athletics each offseason, it’s not surprising to know that the Rebels also feature a former Wildcat on their roster. Sophomore Austin Fawley played for Kentucky last season as a freshman, appearing in 10 games for Nick Mingione’s squad.
Hunter Elliott (5-0, 3.12 ERA) is expected to take the start on the bump for Ole Miss in game one. Kentucky has not yet announced its expected lineup. All games in this series are set to be aired on SECN+.
