Nebraska true freshman defensive lineman Keona Davis plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, he announced on Monday.

In his lone season with the Huskers, Davis recorded nine tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss while appearing in 11 games.

However, after the departure of defensive line coach Terrance Knighton for Florida State, Davis will be in search of a new home. He will have four years to play three at his next destination.

“After thoughtful reflection and careful consideration, I have decided to enter the transfer portal with four years of eligibility remaining,” he wrote on Twitter in his announcement. “I want to thank Coach Rhule and his staff, my teammates, and everyone in Husker Nation who has supported me along the way. I am deeply grateful for the experiences, relationships, and opportunities I’ve had as a Cornhusker.
Thank you, Husker Nation!”
