Top-100 DL Kevin Wynn sticking with Florida State despite push from Georgia and others
Florida State continues to get good news on National Signing Day. Greensboro (Ga.) Greene County four-star defensive lineman Kevin Wynn announced on Wednesday that he is sticking with his commitment to the Seminoles.
Both Georgia and South Carolina charged hard down the stretch to flip the 6-foot-2, 325-pounder, but he is set to sign with FSU and head to Tallahassee. He originally committed to the Noles on June 24.
“Florida State first offer, they were the first college I visited, they have been on my since 9th grade and they have always been with me and high on my list,” Wynn told On3. “At the end of the official visit, I made my decision to commit to Florida State. It felt like home.”
The 2024 season was a brutal one for Mike Norvell and Co., and that was reflected by a massive number of prospects backing off their pledge throughout the fall. Wynn kept other programs warm, but never decommitted.

“The people make the place at Florida State,” he said upon committing. “It is a great atmosphere to be in with the players and the coaches there. Coach Norvell is a ball of energy and that energy rubs off on others. He is a great guy that cares for his players. Coach Haggins shows a lot of love too and he develops a lot of guys that play in the NFL.”
Wynn is the No. 74 overall prospect and No. 9 DL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 11 player in Georgia.
Earlier on Wednesday, FSU flipped three-star cornerback Shamar Arnoux from Auburn. Earlier this week, three-star wide receiver Teriq Mallory flipped from West Virginia. The Noles’ class currently features 16 commits and ranks No. 28 in the nation, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
