Kim Mulkey seen in Flau'jae Johnson, Lil Wayne music video for 'Came Out A Beast'
Flau’jae Johnson had the latest song in her rap career drop on Monday evening. Not only does it feature Lil Wayne, though, but includes another familiar face from Baton Rouge.
Johnson shared the release of the music video for ‘Came Out A Beast’ on social media. It starts out inside a huddle for LSU with Kim Mulkey coaching in it.
“Make free throws and layups. If I was watching this game, I’d turn it off. Look at that score, would you? That’s some bad offensive basketball. It might be something to these balls being too bouncy but that’s some bad ball,” says Mulkey in the staged timeout. “Make your layups, make your free throws, play hard for 10 minutes, and see what happens.”
Mulkey is just one of several nods to Louisiana State University throughout the clip and song itself.
The video includes Johnson holding the national championship trophy that she helped win in 2023. It also includes several shots inside the Pete Maravich Center with the banners of the arena hanging above them at certain moments.
The story within it is Johnson going to hit a game-winning shot to win another title for the Tigers
As for ‘Came Out A Beast’, both Johnson and Wayne make reference to several all-timers at LSU. Johnson names out Shaquille O’Neal along with a follow-up to Kobe Bryant, Joe Burrow, and her own former teammate in Angel Reese. Lil Wayne also notes Burrow along with Coach Mulkey herself.
That doesn’t even include other references to the likes of Deion Sanders, Elon Musk, and Cristiano Ronaldo throughout the song.

Johnson has appeared in 72 games as she enters her third collegiate season as a junior at LSU. As an underclassman, she averaged 13 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.6 steals while shooting 46.7% overall and 35.4% from three.
As for her life off the court, Johnson is one of the most profitable athletes in all of college sports. Per On3 NIL, her valuation sits at $1.2 million. That puts her at No. 2 in women’s basketball behind only UConn’s Paige Bueckers and at No. 13 on the NIL 100. She is also the third-highest for her own school behind Livvy Dunne being at No. 2 overall and No. 1 in gymnastics while QB Bryce Underwood, the top overall recruit and a committed prospect for the Tigers in 2025, is at No. 12 and No. 1 in high school football.
Johnson has deals for her name, image, and likeness with several top brands. That list includes JBL Audio, Apple Cash, Mercedes-Benz, Tinder, and Powerade among many more. That only builds her brand in front of the 3.4 million followers for her on social media.
All that is before you get into her continuing career as a musician.
Not many would have guessed to see Mulkey actually make an appearance in Johnson’s content. She’s front and center for it, though, with the performer and basketball star for LSU.
