Kingston Flemings, On3’s No. 1 ranked point guard in the 2025 class, told On3 he has committed to Houston.

The 6-foot-3 senior out of William J. Brennan High (TX) ultimately chose Kelvin Sampson and the Cougars over Texas Tech but also received offers from Texas, Arkansas, and others.

Flemings, a San Antonio native, is the nation’s No. 20 overall prospect and No. 2 recruit out of Texas in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Flemings on his commitment to Houston

Kingston Flemings discussed his decision with On3.

“I chose Houston because of the winning culture that they’ve built,” he said. “I want to go somewhere where we can compete on any given night and I’m playing against and with the best players so I can get better in practice and in games.”

What led to his trust in the coaching staff?

“I think seeing the way they’ve gotten their guards in the past better every single year. Jamal Shead was a 3-star and went to Houston from Manor and now he’s doing great with Toronto.”

In his own words, what type of player is Houston getting in Kingston Flemings?

“I’d say I’m a quick twitch facilitator. I think the best thing I do is pass and get people open. I’m athletic and can score but that’s for sure what I do best. I’m also an elite defender and leader on the court.”

He has a message for UofH fans.

“I’m ready to come in and help Houston from day 1 to win a National Championship. Go Coogs.”

Scouting Report

“Kingston Flemings is an excellent point of attack lead guard. He uses his burst and first step to touch the paint on offense and his length, toughness, and quick feet to prevent the opposition from touching the paint. Flemings is in the 6-2 height range with good length, carrying a plus wing span. He plays with a toughness. Plays with good pace and makes good decisions in traffic, delivering passes from multiple levels of a live dribble. He will need to continue working on the jump shot, he has a two-handed release at times – especially off the catch – that will need cleaning. He is a good pull up shooter and can get above the rim in traffic. Enhances the play of those around him. Projectable frame. Brings it from start to finish, seemingly affects each game in multiple ways.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
