ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit has named his list of top performing players from Week 6 of the college football season. Although he didn’t rank them in any particular order — four quarterbacks, three skill positions and one defensive performance made the cut on Herbstreit’s list.

Eight players made the list this week as top performers. TCU receiver Quentin Johnston, UCLA quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson and running back Zach Charbonnet made it together, as well as Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud. Pitt running back Israel Abanikanda had a massive day, as did dual-threat quarterbacks Chevan Cordeiro of San Jose State and Jeff Sims of Georgia Tech.

The sole defensive player on the list was linebacker Drake Thomas of NC State — for his 14 tackles, seven solo tackles, two tackles for a loss and two pass deflections while beating Florida State.

Although multiple players stuffed the stat sheet on Saturday, few had close to as monster of a game as Abanikanda had against Virginia Tech. The Pitt running back rushed 36 times for 320 yards and six touchdowns on the ground.

The only receiver on the list this week was Johnston, who caught 14 passes for 206 yards and a beautiful touchdown grab in the back of the end zone in a win over Kansas. Charbonnet joined his quarterback as a top performer in the victory over Utah, with 198 yards rushing and a touchdown — while Thompson-Robinson threw for 299 yards and four touchdowns.

Ohio State took down Michigan State in convincing fashion behind Stroud’s 361 yards and six touchdowns passing. Meanwhile, UNLV saw first-hand the ability of Cordeiro as he scored four total touchdowns on the ground and in the air with 339 total yards. Sims had a similar outing in their win over Duke, throwing for two touchdowns while racking up 322 yards of total offense.
