Another exciting action of college football is in the books. Following all of the Week 11 action, College GameDay’s Kirk Herbstreit has named his top performing players from the weekend.

Herbstreit’s top performing players from Week 11

Ohio State QB CJ Stroud, WRs Garrett Wilson and Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Ohio State put its explosive offense on display against Purdue. Stroud completed 31 of his 38 pass attempts for 361 yards and five touchdowns. 19 of his completions went to Wilson and Smith Njigba, with nine more going to Chris Olave. Wilson finished with 10 receptions for 126 yards and three touchdowns. Smith-Njigba hauled in nine receptions for 139 yards and a touchdown. Ohio State took down a solid Purdue team, and the offensive trio earned Week 11 honors from Herbstreit.

Central Michigan RB Lew Nichols III: Central Michigan put up 54 points in a 54-30 victory over Kent State. A lot of the offensive production came on the shoulders of Nichols. He had 43 carries in the game, rushing for 215 yards and four touchdowns. He also had four receptions for 33 yards. Despite no points in the first quarter, Nichols led the Chippewas to a monster day on the ground.

Michigan DE Aidan Hutchinson, LB David Ojabo: The Wolverines survived a scare from Penn State, holding on with a 21-17 win. Michigan was led by a strong all-around defensive performance. Hutchinson had seven total tackles to go along with three sacks and three tackles for loss. Ojabo has four tackles, two sacks, and two tackles for loss. Penn State averaged just 2.6 yards per carry on 42 attempts, and the Michigan defensive front was dominant.

Kansas FB Jared Casey: Kansas pulled off a major upset over Texas on Saturday night. The game sealing play came from Casey, a walk-on fullback. After Kansas scored in overtime, the Jayhawks decided to go for two and the win instead of kicking the extra point. Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels found Casey in the end zone, securing the win. Casey made headlines due to his family filming the play and the ensuing celebration in the stands.

Texas Tech K Jonathan Garibay: Garibay made two field goals and all five of his extra point attempts for 11 points on Saturday. But the biggest play of the game came when time expired. After Texas Tech drove down the field in the final minute of the game, Garibay stepped up and drilled a 62-yard walk-off field goal to give Texas Tech their sixth win of the season.

Florida State DE Jermaine Johnson II: Florida State picked up its fourth win of the season with a 31-28 victory over Miami. Johnson had a monster game in the close victory. On the night, Johnson had seven total tackles, three sacks, and five tackles for loss. Miami averaged just 1.9 yards per carry on 23 attempts, largely due to Johnson’s presence up front.

Mississippi State QB Will Rogers: Rogers continued his strong season for Mississippi State in Saturday’s 43-34 win over Auburn. In the win, Rogers completed 44 of his 55 passes for 415 yards, six touchdowns, and zero interceptions. He completed passes to ten different receivers and the performance was his fourth 400-yard passing day of the year. The SEC named Rogers the Offensive Player of the Week for his strong day.
