Kiyan Anthony will continue his father, Carmelo Anthony’s legacy, and has committed to Syracuse, he told On3.

The son of the 10x NBA All-Star and former 2003 Syracuse Champion Carmelo Anthony chose the Orange over scholarship offers from programs like USC, Ohio State, Florida State, Rutgers, and others.

Kiyan is the nation’s No. 30 overall prospect, No. 9 shooting guard and No. 1 recruit in New York in the 2025 cycle according to On3’s Top-150 Player Rankings.

Anthony Scouting Report

“Scoring is the thing with Kiyan Anthony. He is wired to score the ball. And, year over year, his game has continued on an upward trend. Standing 6-4/6-5, he has a good frame with nice length. Good positional size. Offensively, Anthony has good touch with a solid base in his jump shot. He is comfortable off the bounce or the catch. He is starting to show comfort as a go-to type scorer. Anthony plays confidently. He will need to continue developing the handle. This will also help his efficiency and help in learning (and getting to) his spots on the floor. Taking a less is more offensive approach will help his overall threat as a scorer. He has solid defensive anticipation off the ball. Will need to continue adding strength. The range is deep and he has an array of off-balance or step-back type moves to get a clean look. Anthony is already producing big numbers and he still has some ceiling to continue growing into as a player.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw

Kiyan recently named one of the top pure bucket-getters

According to On3’s Jamie Shaw, Kiyan Anthony is one of the top-10 pure bucket-getters in the 2025 class:

“Kiyan Anthony is the son of the No. 9 all-time scorer in NBA history, Carmelo Anthony. So naturally, the 6-foot-5 guard is going to have a spotlight on him. Anthony’s path has been unique to this point. He has come along at his own pace, coming off the bench at Long Island (NY) Lutheran and playing at his age group through his travel ball experience. Each year you also see progression in Anthony’s game. This summer, for me, it was the confidence that Anthony played with. As he continues to get stronger and while he still needs to clean up some things with his footwork and balance, Anthony manufactured clean looks. He led the NBPA Top 100 Camp in scoring this year and he averaged 20.2 points in EYBL play. Now that he has shown he can score, it is about getting to reps to learn how to score. On3 remains higher than the industry on Anthony as he could be right on the verge of a jump.”
