Former Auburn, LSU WR Koy Moore enrolls at Western Kentucky
Former Auburn and LSU wide receiver Koy Moore has enrolled at Western Kentucky and is on the team’s online roster. He entered the transfer portal just before the spring window closed in May.
Moore appeared in 10 games for Auburn last season, hauling in three receptions for 24 yards during that time. His best season on The Plains came in 2022 after his transfer from LSU when he had 20 receptions for 314 yards and a touchdown.
All told, over four years with LSU and Auburn, Moore has 586 receiving yards and a touchdown to his name. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Koy Moore arrived on the college football scene as a four-star recruit out of Archbishop Rummel (La.). He was the No. 327 overall recruit and No. 14-ranked prospect out of Louisiana during the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Auburn gearing up for Year 2 under Hugh Freeze
Auburn is gearing up for the second season of the Hugh Freeze Era after an up-and-down route to a 6-7 record in 2023. The Tigers will look to take a step forward with some high-profile newcomers on board, headlined by Cam Williams – the No. 4 overall player from the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking – and former Penn State standout KeAndre Lambert-Smith at the wide receiver position.

As far as expectations go, Freeze said it’s a tough question to answer. That said, he sees plenty of upside on this year’s roster.
“Most of us who have done this a while, know that you feel good about certain things and probably not so good about some. I’m really excited about where I think the chemistry of our team is and their confidence,” Freeze said on The Paul Finebaum Show earlier this week. “Do we have enough bullets in the gun yet to play eight to 10 games against really, really good teams in this league and and be able to pull them off? I’m uncertain of that.
“But, I do think these young kids we signed are really talented, and we’re gonna have to depend upon them. That’s really the hardest measuring stick for me because they’re so young and they haven’t had to do it yet against the type of players that you see in this league. But I am cautiously optimistic. I believe we’re better, for sure.”
