Canutillo (Texas) three-star running back L.J. Martin has flipped his commitment to BYU from Stanford. He proceeded to sign with the Cougars on National Signing Day.

Martin is the No. 418 overall prospect and No. 29 running back in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 72 player in Texas.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound tailback was previously pledged to the Cardinal since June 28. He was also committed to Texas Tech at one point.

BYU’s 2023 recruiting class now contains two running backs. They are Martin and UNLV transfer Aidan Robbins.

Martin has an On3 NIL Valuation of $17.8K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
