Lane Kiffin, Eli Drinkwitz swap jabs on Twitter
A sure sign the offseason is here: Lane Kiffin is fooling around on Twitter. Granted, this time Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz threw out some red meat for the Ole Miss head coach.
After the Missouri baseball team took the Thursday and Friday games of a series against Ole Miss, Drinkwitz offered a tweet in support of the Tigers pulling off the sweep. And he roped Kiffin in to the fray.
“Time to #SweepTheSip,” Drinkwitz said, tagging Kiffin. The tweet included a picture of an Ole Miss player looking forlorn sitting in an auxiliary field.
Kiffin, however, had quite the apt retort. He’s not new at this, after all.
“Hope you are wearing your cool sweater vest for the game pal,” Kiffin said in a quote tweet, adding a winking emoji for good measure.
And though Missouri did take the weekend series from the Rebels in Colombia, Drinkwitz might’ve jumped the gun on some gloating.
Through five and a half innings of the third game in the series, Ole Miss held a 15-9 lead over Missouri.

Not quite the outcome Drinkwitz would’ve wanted to backup his offseason online poking. And it’s perhaps some more ammo for Kiffin the next time he wants to have some fun on Twitter, as he’s known to do.
In the month of April alone, Kiffin trolled Florida for a low-scoring spring game, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart about working out and eating cheeseburgers, and Tennessee football with a Morgan Wallen reference.
Kiffin trolled Tennessee football using Wallen’s concert in Oxford as the backdrop
There might not be a bigger superstar in country music right now than Morgan Wallen. He has taken the genre, and in some cases the world, by storm, especially after the release of his latest album. Now, with his ‘One Night At A Time’ world tour stopping next in Oxford, Mississippi, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin just couldn’t help himself by using it to poke fun at Tennessee.
Kiffin shared this photo on Twitter earlier today of one of Wallen’s tour trailers parked outside of Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, the site of his back-to-back shows tomorrow and Sunday, after performing last night in Louisville. Considering the musician’s love for the Volunteers as a native of a town in Tennessee just outside of Knoxville, Kiffin thought UT fans should know he was happy to take in one of their own as a transfer.
