Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin visited Sandersville (Ga.) Washington County three-star offensive tackle and Miami commit Falentha Carswell on Tuesday.

The visit comes one day after Manny Diaz was fired as the Hurricanes head coach and Mario Cristobal was hired for the same position.

Carswell is the No. 588 overall prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Manvel (Texas) four-star linebacker Justin Medlock is the only player to decommit from the Hurricanes over the last day, but there weren’t many players in the class to begin with anyway.

Miami has the No. 19 class in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking, but there are only eight players in the class.

Carswell is one of four offensive players in the class along with Valdosta (Ga.) Lowndes four-star quarterback Jacurri Brown, Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Oakland four-star wide receiver Isaiah Horton and Mandeville (La.) three-star wide receiver Landon Ibieta.

Those numbers will soon grow as Cristobal starts on the trail.

“Mario Cristobal is one of their own,” On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons said. “Mario has ties to the school. He knows what it means to be a Hurricane. He is going to bring a passion that only one connected to the school can bring to Miami.”

Ole Miss has the No. 31 recruiting class in the country. The class currently have three offensive lineman recruits in Gautier (Miss.) four-star offensive tackle Bryson Hurst, Clearwater (Fla.) Calvary Christian three-star offensive tackle Preston Cushman and Houston Alief Hastings three-star offensive tackle Timi Gagophien.
