Lane Kiffin responds to speculation on blue-blood openings, involves Mark Stoops
Lane Kiffin has never pretended to avoid the headlines or ignore his name online, often responding to his own advantage when he sees fit. In his latest tweet, the Ole Miss head coach used a column to prove his point and drag another SEC coach into the conversation as Mark Stoops faces similar speculation.
With the Nebraska job already open and many reports that Auburn head coach Bryan Harsin sits in one of the country’s hottest seats entering a difficult portion of the schedule, plenty coaches who are overachieving at other schools have seen their name printed or brought up in conversation.

Lane Kiffin and Mark Stoops are among the two coaches who belong at the top of that list and have therefor drawn interest over the past several years for openings across the country. However, both have remained loyal to their current programs.
“Lane Kiffin and Mark Stoops should rebuff Auburn football or Nebraska,” Kiffin posted over a link.
USA Today’s Blake Toppmeyer posted a column which suggested both coaches are better off building on the success at their current schools than bailing for a traditional blue-blood. In fact, he states that the chances of reaching a College Football Playoff is higher at Ole Miss or Kentucky than Nebraska or Auburn.
