Lane Kiffin always has jokes and the latest jab was at Brian Kelly for his postgame press conference. The LSU coach slammed his fist and nearly sent a bottle of water flying.

Well, Kiffin told Kelly to try Coke Zero instead. The hilarity of this joke is something to behold.

You can see Kiffin’s tweet below, which even includes emojis!

“Maybe you just need a Coke Zero and a (smile),” Kiffin wrote, tagging Kelly and also writing the hashtag “#LoveCoke.”

The Ole Miss coach has a lot of jokes and this one is just the latest, at the expense of LSU’s fearless leader.

The talk about beverages between Kiffin and Kelly stems back to the end of August.

Kiffin jokingly made a comment about the amount of sugar in Coca-Cola and how unhealthy the soda is when looking at a bottle on the podium at the end press conference. Which led to Kelly giving a full endorsement of smartwater, another Coke product, the next time he spoke to the media.

But the ball was back in the Tigers’ court, with Ole Miss adding an additional bottle of Coke to Kiffin’s podium ahead of his Monday press conference. Specifically a Coke Zero following Kiffin’s comments regarding sugar.

“Does anybody drink Coke?” Kiffin asked in August. “You realize that 130% of your sugar for the entire day is in this one bottle? 65 grams of sugar.”

Coke’s sugar-free alternative now takes the podium alongside Kiffin, who also added that it has been a long time since he’s drank Coca-Cola. But for Kelly, smartwater has clearly always been an alternative to Coke that he can get behind.

“Just a shout out to our sponsor, Coke,” Kelly said on August 21 to open his press conference. “Smartwater, great Coke product. Minerals, vitamins. It’s just great for you. It’s refreshing. Healthy and Coke provides you all the products that you need, depending on what you like, and I love smartwater.”

Kelly followed his endorsement by taking a swig of a smartwater bottle following a hot fall camp practice in Baton Rouge. Showing his allegiance to the Coca-Cola sponsorship and likely giving the brand some exposure in his ambiguous response to Kiffin.

Ole Miss heads to Baton Rouge to take on LSU on October 12. Kiffin and Kelly might have the troll battle to end all troll battles that day.
