Lane Kiffin visits George County HS, home of Auburn 5-star QB commit Deuce Knight
With the Rebels on a bye week this weekend, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin hit the recruiting trail Thursday night.
Kiffin posted a photo from George County High School in Lucedale, Mississippi — the home of Auburn five-star quarterback commit Deuce Knight. Knight has been committed to Auburn since he flipped to the Tigers from Notre Dame at the start of October.
While still committed to Auburn, Knight did visit Oxford last weekend along with five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham. The pair took in the Rebels’ upset victory over then-No. 3 Georgia, and Cunningham later flipped from Alabama to Ole Miss on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-4.5, 208-pound Knight has previously had high praise for the in-state school.
“I really like Ole Miss, I’m not going to sugarcoat it,” Knight said at the On3 Elite Series this summer. “They’ve got Coach Kiffin, that’s all they really need. He’s proven that he scores a lot of points, he wins a lot of games and then he’s not scared to start a true freshman at quarterback … the experience him and Coach Weiss have, just being around big-time guys.”

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
Knight is the nation’s No. 32 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the No. 6 quarterback in the class and the No. 2 recruit from Mississippi.
Auburn is expected to host Knight for yet another return visit this weekend.
Ole Miss has some recruiting momentum
The addition of Caleb Cunningham was not the only good news Rebels fans received this week. On Wednesday, On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong logged an expert prediction favoring Ole Miss to flip LSU top-100 offensive line commit Devin Harper.
Ole Miss currently holds the No. 17 class in the 2025 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The Rebels have landed nine blue-chip recruits to date, including this week’s addition of Cunningham. Four-star running back Shekai Mills-Knight, four-star defensive lineman Andrew Maddox, four-star safety Ladarian Clardy, four-star linebacker Jarcoby Hopson and four-star cornerback Maison Dunn all rank inside the On3 Industry Ranking top 300.
