Las Vegas releases updated national championship odds following Selection Sunday
Oddsmakers in Las Vegas have updated the odds for the favorites to win the Big Dance following Selection Sunday. The First Four games begin on Tuesday in Dayton, Ohio, with the first round of NCAA March Madness tournament games starting on Thursday. The NCAA tournament culminates in the Final Four in New Orleans.
There are certain trends that could help you more accurately predict which team will win it all this year. Teams with high-ranking offensive and defensive efficiency, and teams who’ve won it all before, have much better odds of taking home the trophy.
Gonzaga, the No. 1 seed in the West Region, currently leads with +350 to win the 2022 NCAA tournament. The Zags went 26-3 this season after losing to Baylor in the championship game a year ago. The Baylor Bears have the fifth-best odds to win in back-to-back fashion. Despite getting the No. 1 seed, Baylor has worse odds than Kentucky in the East.
The Arizona Wildcats trail Gonzaga after a 31-3 season and winning the Pac-12 title. They’ll have to get past Big East and SEC tournament champs Villanova and Tennessee to make it to the Final Four. Duke is +1050 in the odds to win the title for the first time since 2015.
