Las Vegas updates college basketball national championship odds
As the 2021-22 college basketball season continues to move on, it’s getting easier to predict the teams that could potentially be competing for a national championship once March Madness gets underway. While teams such as Auburn, Gonzaga, Purdue, Arizona, Kentucky and Duke have been some of the most consistent throughout the season, each of them have suffered losses and could be beaten come tournament in March.
Looking specifically at Gonzaga, the Bulldogs have climbed to the top of the Associated Press Top 25 poll with 17 straight wins and present an overall record of 24-2 – with the two losses coming against Duke (Nov. 26) and Alabama (Dec. 4). Aside from its two losses, Gonzaga has blown out nearly everyone it has played and has even scored over 100 points five different times this season.
Alongside Gonzaga, Kentucky is another team that’s been on a row for much of the season. Currently ranked No. 6 in the nation, the Wildcats are sitting at 23-5 with a 12-3 mark in the SEC after back-to-back wins over Alabama and LSU. Kentucky has won eight of its last nine games heading into a marquee matchup on Saturday on the road at No. 18 Arkansas. Staying the SEC, No. 3 ranked Auburn hasn’t been as sharp as of late, but the Tigers are still 25-3 coming into a big meeting with No. 17 Tennessee on Saturday in Knoxville.
