Latrell Allmond, a four-star power forward in the 2026 class, says he is currently hearing from seven schools the most (in no particular order): Georgetown, Tennessee, Oklahoma State, Michigan State, Rutgers, Ole Miss, and Missouri. Each of the programs have offered him a scholarship, besides Michigan State.

He does not have a top list of schools and also holds offers from schools like Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Georgia, Virginia, Washington, Cincinnati, Kansas, Louisville, and others.

Almond has taken unofficial visits to Oklahoma State, Georgetown, Rutgers, Tennessee, NC State, and North Carolina.

The 6-foot-8 junior out of John Marshall High (Richmond, VA) is the No. 45 overall recruit in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He’s also the No. 6 power forward and the No. 2 player in Virginia. On3’s Jamie Shaw is higher than the industry on Allmond, ranking him 29th in the class.

Allmond on programs involved

In a previous interview with On3’s Jamie Shaw, Latrell Allmond discussed several of the schools recruiting him.

GEORGETOWN: “Ever since I went there, my relationship with them has grown tremendously. They’ve been down to see me in Richmond, and they’ve been to a couple of my games to watch me play. So they have been very active in my recruitment. They’ve been very hands-on, checking in on me and my family around the holidays. Those guys, Coach Ed Cooley and Coach Kenny Johnson, they’re really on it.”

TENNESSEE: “I just talked with them earlier, they actually said they’re coming to watch me tonight. That right there is big for me. Talking to those coaches, you know, Coach (Justin) Gainey and them just talking with them about where I can fit in with their system. Of course, you know they’re the number one team in the country right now, so you have to hear them out. I like what they said about where I fit in that system and being a part of that winning program.

OKLAHOMA STATE: “I’m in a great spot with Oklahoma State. With the recruiting, we talk pretty much every day. Me and Coach James Miller, we talk just about every day. It’s really just staying in touch, seeing how things are going, talking about our seasons and all that.”

MISSOURI: “Coach CY Young is the main guy I’m talking to there. Just talking with me, he has come down to Richmond a couple of times to talk. I’m just getting to know him and the program. He keeps telling me what he likes about my game and how I belong in the SEC and how I’m an SEC kind of player. He always asked me, “Do I want that handshake?” You know that handshake you get when you hear your name called on draft night? He tells me he can get me to that handshake.”

What he’s looking for in a school

In that same previous interview with On3’s Jamie Shaw, Allmond discussed what he wants in a college.

“Playing time is something that will for sure be a factor for me. I want to play in a system that kind of has like a five-out feel, get out and run, defend. I’m a versatile wing, that is what I’m getting recruited as. So a team where I have an opportunity to play and whose system will let me go out and show what I can do on the court.”
