With the final game of the season tonight, College GameDay will air their final edition of the campaign from Houston. That means one more pick for each of them, including that of Lee Corso as he has already shared which way he is leaning in the national championship.

The show’s account on Twitter shared a video of the whole crew at the desk ahead of their live show inside NRG Stadium from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. ahead of the game’s kickoff at 6:30 p.m.. In the minute-long clip, Kirk Herbstreit asked for Corso’s early guess for tonight’s winner. With his choice, he hailed to the victors by selecting the No. 1 Wolverines.

Michigan!” said Corso. “Defense!”

If Michigan is to win tonight, it’s going to come down to their No. 1 defense that Corso noted. Over their 14-0 record, the Wolverines have allowed just 10.2 points and under 250 yards per game overall on that side of the ball. Now, in Houston, they’ll face one of their toughest test yet, if not the most difficult, in the form a Washington offense led by QB Michael Penix Jr.. Their unit is scoring almost 38 points and posting nearly 475 yards of offense a contest.

Michigan will also have to fully exercise their playoff demons in order to win it all tonight. Their victory over No. 4 Alabama in the Rose Bowl snapped their 0-2 start in their appearances over the past two seasons. Now, against the Huskies, they could bring their record back to .500 while also claiming their first title since 1997.

Corso will likely be back during or by the end of the show to make his pick officially official. For now, though, it seems as though he’s all in on the maize and blue coming out victorious in the final championship of the four-team playoff.

Paul Finebaum explains why he expects Michigan to beat Washington

Michigan and Washington are hours away from meeting in the College Football Playoff national championship game.

Paul Finebaum shared his pick for the big-time showdown during his show on Monday.

Finebaum is going with Michigan to win the battle of undefeateds.

“To me, it really comes down to Michigan’s ability to run the ball on Washington. I don’t think there’s much on the other side. … The problem I’m having with this game is it’s hard to get the bias out of what I just got through watching,” Finebaum said. “Even though I’m well aware the game went to overtime? It seemed like on the line of scrimmage, especially defensively? Michigan dominated. And, offensively, they did, too.”
