Lee Corso will miss College GameDay for second straight week
Rece Davis has revealed Lee Corso will not be in Eugene, Oregon, for ESPN College GameDay on Saturday, per Zachary Neel. Corso has previously listed Eugene as one of his favorite college towns to visit but will not be in attendance as No. 3 Oregon squares off against No. 2 Ohio State.
“He’s not going to be here this week. He’s doing better. He’s been a little bit under the weather for the last couple of weeks,” Davis said. “I talked to him earlier and he said he was sorry he is missing his best friend, The Duck.”
Corso also missed College GameDay last week as the crew traveled to Berkely, California, to watch Miami pull off a comeback win over the Golden Bears. Corso is 89 years old and is the only member of the show who has been a host since its inception in 1987.
After suffering a stroke in 2009, Corso has occasionally missed weeks due to health issues. However, these absences have become more common in recent years despite College GameDay‘s best efforts to minimize Corso’s difficulties.
Most notably, Corso concludes each episode of College GameDay by predicting who will win the Game of the Week and donning the mascot’s head of the team of his choice. College fans across the country can only hope to see Lee Corso feel better soon.

ESPN College GameDay announces its celebrity guest picker
While the College GameDay crew will miss Corso on Saturday, they will be joined by Emmy-nominated actress and Oregon alum Kaitlin Olson for her first appearance as the College GameDay celebrity guest picker.
Olson has appeared in films such as The Heat (2013), Vacation (2015) and Finding Dory (2016) but perhaps is best known for her role as Deandra “Sweet Dee” Reynolds in the FX comedy series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005–present).
Most recently, Olson has drawn widespread praise for her performance as DJ Vance in HBO’s Hacks. For her performance on the show, she received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series in 2022 and 2024.
Kaitlin Olson grew up in the Portland, Oregon, area and graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelor’s degree in theater arts in 1997. Now, she will return home to cheer on her Ducks and cast her predictions for the rest of the college football slate on Saturday.
