No. 1 2022 RB Le'Veon Moss decommits from Alabama
Top 2022 running back Le’Veon Moss is reopening his recruitment. Moss was previously committed to Alabama and is listed as the No. 1 running back in the On300 with a four-star ranking of 96.
Moss is from Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge, and there are rumors that he may be interested in staying home in Louisiana. He has previously stated he grew up dreaming of getting an offer from LSU, and it was a surprise when he originally chose to play for Nick Saban instead of Ed Orgeron.
Moss committed to Alabama while on campus in Tuscaloosa in early June. Since the commitment he visited Texas A&M twice – one official visit and one unofficial visit — plus TCU and Ole Miss. After he committed he made clear that while he was confident in his pledge to Alabama, his recruitment had not yet ended completely. He has 16 total offers including nine from SEC schools.
Moss is 6-feet and 190-pounds. He is a two-sport athlete, participating on his high school track and field team in addition to football. His 100-meter time is 10.84, his 200-meter time is 23.04, and he has been clocked running a 4.34 40-yard dash.

In 2019, he ran for over 1,300 yards, had 16 touchdowns and averaged over 13 yards per carry. He was a 2019 Louisiana 4A All-State selection as a kick returner after returning three kickoffs for touchdowns. He missed part of his junior season due to a concussion. Moss also works with the wide receivers at his high school, working to become an all-around running back.
Alabama already has 4-star running back Emmanuel Henderson from Hartford, Alabama, committed in the 2022 class. LSU has their own 4-star running back committed from the class in TreVonte’ Citizen. Like Moss, Citizen is a Louisiana native. He committed to the Tigers on July 19 and is the No. 8 running back in the On300.
Moss joins Jovantae Barnes as the only top-10 running back in the 2022 On300 that is still uncommitted. Oklahoma has commitments from No. 4 Gavin Sawchuk of Littleton (Colo.) Valor Christian and No. 7 Raleek Brown of Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei.
