According to On3’s Matt Zenitz, Liberty is expected to hire Kyle Krantz as the team’s new special teams coordinator.

Krantz is currently a special teams analyst for the Missouri Tigers. He has experience as a special teams coordinator, previously working in those roles at South Carolina and Washington State.

Jamey Chadwell took over as the head coach at Liberty following Hugh Freeze’s departure for Auburn. It is considered one of the better Group of Five jobs because of how much Freeze was paid and the fact that he was able to make the jump from Liberty to the SEC. Now, Krantz is a part of that staff.

Missouri blocked two kicks and one punt this season and didn’t allow any blocked kicks or punts this season. On top of that, the Tigers had the best kickoff return defense this season, only allowing 13.64 yards per kick return.

While he was at South Carolina, Krantz coached under Will Muschamp. He also has SEC experience at Kentucky, Florida, and Auburn while Gus Malzahn was there.
