Alijah Arenas flashes upside

04/01/2025 10:06:49 PM

Alijah Arenas announced his reclassification in January, bumping up to the 2025 class. The 6-foot-5 son of former NBA all-star Gilbert Arenas settled in for the game to make multiple jump shots at multiple levels. With the reclassification, he is only finishing his third year of high school, but the skill set is apparent, and the shot making has promise. The upside is intriguing.

Meleek Thomas brings electricity

04/01/2025 10:04:37 PM

No matter what setting it is, Meleek Thomas brings an extra level of electricity to the floor. He plays with pace, he is always talking, and he is very active with a nose for the rim. he is the type of player that is hard to take your eyes off of when he is on the floor.

Nate Ament is unique

04/01/2025 09:50:57 PM

Nate Ament is listed at 6-foot-9, and pushing 6-foot-10, but he is at his best when he is on the ball and tasked with creating an advantage. He has an innate feel, is able to get to his spots in the half-court with great pace, and is always on balance with his head up. Ament is going to need to add weight as he is getting bumped off his spots at times, but his ability to morph into multiple roles on the floor and raise the floor of a team, with his size and feel is unique among his peers.

Chris Cenac has immense upside

04/01/2025 09:29:42 PM

Chris Cenac might have as much upside as any player in this class. His length and athletic fluidity already set him apart at 6-foot-10. But then you see the touch from three, his ability to deck it for an advantage, and his nose for the boards. His production is still somewhat inconsistent, but his flashes remain at a high, high level.

Isiah Harwell connects the dots

04/01/2025 09:24:34 PM

One look at Isiah Harwell and you see a strong, lengthy frame with good positional size. But watching him play, you see a guy who is never rushed, defends the heck out of his position, and can dribble, shoot, and pass. While he is not one to apply constant pressure on a defense, he is one who a defense always has to pay attention to.

Cam Boozer finds a way

04/01/2025 09:20:24 PM

Of course, Cam Boozer is 6-foot-8, and he has long arms with a sturdy frame, but he just always seems to find a way to produce. The Duke signee can knock down shots, he can rebound, and he finishes at the basket. What might be the most impressive aspect of Boozer’s game is his understanding of angles and leverage. He is able to find his spacing with a very strong lower body and an innate sense to get into open areas.

Shon Abaev is wired to score

04/01/2025 09:05:06 PM

Shon Abaev has a unique ability among his peers to consistently create a clean look for himself. Listed at 6-foot-7 with good length, the Cincinnati signee has a herky cadence with an understanding of space. His high release makes it difficult for wings to contest. He has picked his spots well in the first half, not forcing things and knocking down the shots that came to him.

Tounde Yessoufou is filled with energy

04/01/2025 08:53:20 PM

It is hard to take your eyes off Tounde Yessoufou when he is on the floor. A lot of that has to do with the raw explosion and non-stop motor. Yessoufou, a Baylor signee, seems to always find himself around the ball. He did this throughout practice and scrimmages as well, an on-switch that has not turned off yet. Impressive.

Malachi Moreno drains a three

04/01/2025 08:46:45 PM

What a great story it was for Malachi Moreno. He was late to the McDonald’s All-American week, showing up on Monday, because he was at home winning a state championship. Moreno was the title on Saturday, and he flew directly to Brooklyn for the Sunday activities. In the game so far, the Kentucky signee ended the first quarter with a massive block. He then calmly knocks down a spot three his first possession in the second quarter. Moreno is currently the No. 2 center in the 2025 recruiting class for On3.

Caleb Wilson impressive

04/01/2025 08:39:49 PM

While the UNC commitment has not yet gotten in the scorer’s column, he has been excellent on the defensive end. At 6-foot-10, he can move laterally to slide with perimeter-based forwards or switch down a line up and act as a weakside-type rim protector. Defensively, Wilson has as much upside as any player in this class.

The footwork for Dybantsa

04/01/2025 08:35:50 PM

AJ Dybantsa gets a ball at full steam, heading downhill, and has the ability to decelerate and euro to the basket. Smooth fishing with wildly impressive body control for a player his size.

Cayden Boozer is so steady

04/01/2025 08:27:57 PM

Throughout four years of winning at every level, Cayden Boozer has always led with confidence. He is a proven floor raiser for a team, a guy who plays fast and takes care of possessions. He has picked his spots here early, changing pace and using his big frame to finish plays. State championships, Peach Jam championships, gold medals- Boozer has simply won every step of the way. Again, he’s a floor raiser.

Darryn Peterson brings the crowd to their feet

04/01/2025 08:21:11 PM

Early on in this game, there has been a good bit of sloppy play with quick shots and not much ball movement. However, around the 4:32 mark, the game saw its first highlight as Kansas signee Darryn Peterson flew in for a put back dunk. It was Peterson’s first field goal of the game, and one where you could audibly hear the oohs and the ahhs. Peterson

AJ Dybantsa starts strong

04/01/2025 08:17:23 PM

The industry’s consensus No. 1 player started the game off with a dunk, AJ Dybantsa followed that up a couple of plays later with a strong rim attack from the right wing. The 6-foot-9 wing is very skilled with a world of upside with his game. He has a unique blend of athletic pop and fluidity with his length and positional size.
