Livvy Dunne takes shot at Nick Saban-Vanderbilt comments during ESPN College GameDay
As she made her picks at the end of ESPN College GameDay, Livvy Dunne took a shot at Nick Saban and his comments about Vanderbilt. She picked the Commodores to defeat South Carolina, but noted the former Alabama coach said it wasn’t a tough place to play.
“Someone once said that Vanderbilt was the easiest place to play in the SEC,” Dunne said while looking at Saban. “But not today. I’m going with Vanderbilt.”
Livvy Dunne and Paul Skenes served as the guest pickers on College GameDay, which was in Baton Rouge for LSU’s game against Alabama Saturday night. The All-American gymnast is coming off a national championship last season and chose to run it back for one more go-round with the Tigers.
As for Skenes, he’s coming off a decorated rookie season with the Pittsburgh Pirates after going No. 1 overall in the 2023 MLB Draft. He and Dunne have become one of sports’ most notable power couples, and College GameDay brought them both on the set to make their picks for the Week 11 slate of games.
Of course, Saturday’s game is also a homecoming of sorts for Saban. He won a national championship at LSU before a stint with the Miami Dolphins. Of course, he later returned to college football at Alabama, and the rest is history.

More on Nick Saban’s comments about Vanderbilt
Saban made his comments about Vanderbilt during a regular appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. They quickly went viral after the Commodores defeated Alabama in Nashville earlier this season – and the stadium’s PA crew had some fun. Saban’s comments played over the speakers as Vanderbilt put the finishing touches on the upset.
“The only place you’re going to play in the SEC that’s not hard to play, Vanderbilt,” Saban said. “When you play at Vanderbilt, you have more fans there than they have, and that’s no disrespect to them, it’s the truth. When we played in Nashville, we had more fans, Alabama fans, than what they had Vanderbilt fans.”
The Alabama game wasn’t the only one Vanderbilt looked to pull off a home upset. Texas came away with a victory in the final minutes in Week 9 as Diego Pavia and the Commodores looked to put another marquee victory on their resume.
