New Orleans (La.) Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning is at Clemson for his final planned visit of 2021 season.

He was spotted before the game rocking a black hoodie and khakis talking with a Clemson assistant as head coach Dabo Swinney walked by. Someone notified Swinney that Manning was right behind him and the two-time national title winner made a 180 and headed right towards the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2023.

Manning has previously gone on visits to Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss and Texas. These five schools are considered the top five for Manning.

Arch Manning had a great game Friday

The last two weeks have been difficult for Manning and Isidore Newman. The team first lost to LaPlace (La.) St. Charles Catholic on a Thursday night with Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian in attendance. Then, Manning had another below average performance on national television against Tampa Berkeley Prep and Georgia head coach Kirby Smart. He did have a long touchdown run in the game.

But they rebounded against New Orleans (La.) Cohen. Manning played only one half Friday and finished 9-of-9 passing for 153 yards and five touchdowns.

Texas is the favorite for Manning

Both recruiting experts and Las Vegas sports books believe Texas is the frontrunner for Arch Manning.

Five On3 experts gave early predictions for Manning a few weeks ago, and all five predicted Texas would land the five-star quarterback — although there was a wide range of confidence between them.

“I’m leaning toward Texas right now as well,” ClemsonSports Recruiting Reporter Joseph Hastings said. “Steve Sarkisian has done a great job of pursuing Manning, and him going to see the five-star on Thursday shows how much of a priority he is for the program. The opportunity for Manning to turn Texas football around — which wouldn’t necessarily be the case at traditional powerhouses like Alabama or Clemson —  could also play a role here. I’m not ruling out any of his other contenders since Manning is taking a patient approach, but I’m giving the Longhorns the edge right now.”

This past week, BetOnline.ag posted betting odds for Manning’s recruitment. Texas leads the group at +300.

Georgia is second at +350 with Alabama at +400 and Ole Miss at +450. Clemson is actually in sixth at +550 behind LSU, which did not receive a visit from Manning this fall.
