DeMario Tolan

Four-star linebacker DeMario Tolan out of Orlando Dr. Phillips is a major player to watch out for over the coming weeks.

The LSU commit has been committed to the Tigers since the summer but the recent

When On3’s Chad Simmons caught up with Tolan last month, Tolan said that he was 100% committed to LSU. But, he added, a coaching change would force him to reconsider.

“If any changes are made,” DeMario Tolan said, “I would look around.”

Changes were made. Just a few days after that article was published, it was announced Ed Oregron would not return for the 2022 season. And Tolan opened up his recruitment.

He visited Tennessee two weekends ago, and this past weekend, he took an official visit to Georgia.

Tolan posted photos from the visit on Twitter, including him and Kirby Smart sitting on a couch.

The On3 Consensus – a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies – has DeMario Tolan as the No. 204 overall recruit in the class. On3 ranks him as the No. 164 overall player in the 2022 On300.

His departure would be a major loss for the Tigers recruiting class, which ranks as the No. 12 in the 2022 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking. LSU does not have another linebacker recruit in the class.

DeMario Tolan will be spending the last weekend of November at Auburn for the Iron Bowl.

He won’t be the only LSU commit at the game. Lake Charles (La.) Lake Charles College Prep four-star running back TreVonte Citizen and Valdosta (Ga.) four-star CB JaDarian Rhym are also planning on attending the game.
