Despite the six straight losses for the Tigers, KJ Williams eclipsed 2,000 career points in the loss to Tennessee.

“It’s a great credit to him for his work ethic and commitment,” LSU coach Matt McMahon said. “He is an elite teammate who just wants to help his team get better. He wants to help his team find ways to win. I know he’s had the bonus year here (LSU) but not many players in their college career go over 2,000 points.

“It’s an even smaller fraternity of players who go over 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. Obviously very proud of him and the work he has put in over these four and a half seasons.”

Arkansas lost to LSU last time out and freshman Jordan Walsh was pumped for the rematch. Arkansas is still trying to recover and climb its way back up the standings.

That started with a 69-57 victory against Ole Miss Saturday to snap a four-game losing streak, and the Razorbacks will hope to carry that momentum going forward.

Walsh revealed after the win against the Rebels what he believes is different about this Arkansas team from the first meeting with LSU.

“That was obviously the first one,” Walsh said. “They kind of bullied us and tried to punch us that game. It was one the road, people were nervous. We weren’t ready. We weren’t locked in. But now that it’s home and now that we know what’s up, it should be a different story.”
