LSU's Cam Carter scores seven points in 12 seconds in stunning Oklahoma collapse

Something came over LSU guard Cam Carter in the final seconds of a road game against Oklahoma on Saturday. With the Tigers trailing 79-74 with 35 seconds remaining, they took possession and went down the court as Carter pulled up for a 3-pointer at the top of the arc.
He was fouled on the shot and ended up making it and the free throw as well, completing a rare four-point play to cut the Sooners lead down to one. But with 20 seconds left at that point, LSU would likely need to foul and a win still seemed a tall task.
However, LSU came up with a steal in the backcourt on the very next play, immediately getting the ball back in Carter’s hands. He wasted no time in drivng straight to the basket looking for the kill, putting in the go-ahead layup to go up 80-79 and also being fouled on that play as well.
In the end, Carter completed a 7-0 run by himself as LSU won the game 82-79. He finished with a career-high 29 points on 10-of-17 shooting.

Oklahoma led by as many as 13 points in the second half but would allow LSU to come back and take the lead. But even once the Sooners got it back and everything appeared to be pointing toward them getting out with a win.
Instead, they have now lost four straight and sit at 16-9 (3-9 SEC) as their NCAA Tournament hopes continue to dwindle.
As for the Tigers, the win snaps a seven-game losing streak and gets them back on the right side of .500 at 13-12 (2-10). Cam Carter will hope to lead LSU to strong finish to the season as he looks to build on the momentum created Saturday.
Next up the Tigers will take on South Carolina on Tuesday.
