LSU Five-Star Plus+ CB commit DJ Pickett visiting Georgia
Zephyrhills (Fla.) Five-Star Plus+ cornerback and LSU commit DJ Pickett has changed his visit plans for the weekend.
After seeing LSU last weekend in Baton Rouge, the 6-foot-4, 180-pounder was expected to be in Gainesville this weekend to see the Tigers take on Florida. Instead, Pickett is in Athens visiting Georgia, according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong.
The Bulldogs are hosting Tennessee on Saturday night and have now added another humongous name to the visitor list. The likes of USC quarterback commit Julian Lewis and Tennessee wide receiver commit Travis Smith are also expected between the hedges this weekend.
Pickett, committed to LSU since July 17, had UGA amidst his list of contenders in the spring and into the summer, though the Dawgs never picked up steam in his recruitment like others. Kirby Smart and his staff now have an opportunity to make a splash with the elite defensive back this weekend.

“Georgia was on me early and I have been there four times. Coach Kirby Smart is a good guy and a great coach,” Pickett said of UGA this spring. “I have known him since I was in 8th grade, so we have a great relationship. T-Rob (Travaris Robinson) is there now and we had a good relationship from Alabama. Then you have Donte Williams too. Georgia has some great defensive back coaches on one staff. If you want to be a top defensive back, Georgia would be a great place to be at.”
Pickett has continued to take visits elsewhere this fall, with Miami creating the most buzz this fall. The Hurricanes were one of Pickett’s three finalists ahead of his commitment, alongside LSU and Oregon.
He is the No. 8 overall prospect and No. 2 CB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the top-ranked recruit in the Sunshine State.
