LSU forward Daimion Collins has committed to USF out of the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He does so after spending the last two years with the Tigers.

Collins had a breakout season in 2024-25 under coach Matt McMahon, posting career highs in just about every statistical category. He averaged 8.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.

In addition to his scoring and rebounding, Daimion Collins was also an excellent rim protector. He averaged 1.6 blocks per game, influencing many more shots. He also chipped in 0.5 steals and 0.5 assists per game.

Collins spent the first two years of his career at Kentucky, playing for coach John Calipari. He started only two games during his 52 appearances, never averaging more than eight minutes per game in either season.

He eventually looked for a new home. He found it at LSU.

In his first season with the Tigers, Daimion Collins’ numbers immediately jumped, though he played in only six games due to injury. A shoulder injury would also plague him again during parts of the 2024-25 season.

Still, Collins managed to start 22 of 30 games for the Tigers this season. That run likely got him a look from USF, which was looking to upgrade the frontcourt via the transfer portal this offseason.

Prior to enrolling at Kentucky, Daimion Collins was one of the most sought-after recruits in the entire country. He was ranked as a five-star prospect and was tabbed the No. 16 overall prospect in the class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

He also checked in as the No. 4 player at his position. He was the top overall player in the state of Texas, hailing from Atlanta (TX) Atlanta.

McMahon will have a bit of a rebuilding job to do at LSU this offseason. Daimion Collins is one of six players to transfer out of the program this offseason.
