LSU lands a commitment from in-state WR Kylan Billiot
In the end, it was all worth the wait for three-star Louisiana wide receiver Kylan Billiot, who within hours of working out for LSU and landing an offer from the Tigers locked in his commitment to the in-state program.
Billiot, the No. 21-rated recruit in The Boot in Louisiana’s deep 2024 class, pledged to LSU after a second workout in Baton Rouge this week. The Houma (La.) Terrebonne pass-catcher was among On3’s eye-catchers at the elite camp on June 7.
Billiot “killed” on Saturday to secure an offer from LSU’s Cortez Hankton, who has been a staple in the 6-foot-3, 190-pounder’s process dating back to his first workout on campus last summer.
“I brought it out in the championship game and then they offered me,” Billiot started. “I’m blessed. It’s my dream school. I knew I had to kill, so when I caught the ball in the back corner (of the end zone), I was excited. I know he (Hankton) seen it and so I knew it had to happen. They were pressing me, doubling me, all that …”
“It feels like,” he added. “It’s my dream school and it was earned and nothing was given to me; I had to come here to earn it.”
Hankton has been bullish on the big-framed pass-catcher and converted basketball standout since his sophomore campaign, his first on the football field.
That relationship paid dividends with a commitment from Billiot, who clocked a 4.57-second 40 and is another major in-state piece to bolster LSU’s No. 11-ranked recruiting haul.

“It’s strong,” Billiot said of his connection with Hankton. “After seeing me play, it really showed me I could do this … I could play at this level. He was following me around and you know he isn’t about to offer anyone. You’ve got to work for it and he was following me around and it showed I had to work for it.”
“I’ve grown tremendously and I’ve been working really hard, really hard to get this,” he continued. “I’m staying home and I’m playing at the highest level of college football. It means a lot to me.”
Billit was an eye-catcher at LSU camp this month
Billiot worked out in Baton Rouge on Wednesday. Here’s our write-up on the talented Louisiana wide receiver and his on-field performance:
“Houma (La.) Terrebonne WR Kylan Billiot shined in this setting a year ago as an underclassman and as a 6-foot-3, 190-pound soon-to-be senior he was in the conversation as one of the top pass-catchers this summer as well. Billiot is a long-strider that can easily get upfield and play above the rim. He has strong hands and showed off the ability to make catches on the perimeter and over the middle of the field.”
