LSU leads 2025 cycle in highest average rating per commit

Alabama and Ohio State sit ahead of LSU in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, but no school has a higher average rating per commit than the Tigers.

On3’s database allows users to also sort the team rankings by the highest average rating per commit, based on the On3 Industry Ranking. This shows users the average rating of a program’s entire class instead of a class score factoring in the number of prospects committed.

Below are the top 10 teams based on average rating per commitment:

1. LSU — 92.49

Top Commit: Belleville (Mich.) Five-Star Plus+ QB Bryce Underwood, No. 1 NATL. (No. 1 QB).

Zephyrhills (Fla.) Five-Star Plus+ cornerback DJ Pickett committed to LSU on Wednesday, joining Bryce Underwood as the second Five-Star Plus+ prospect in LSU’s 2025 class. Metairie (La.) five-star running back Harlem Berry is the top tailback in the class and the No. 1 recruit from the state of Louisiana.

Additional top-100 prospects include Laurel (Miss.) four-star interior offensive lineman Tyler Miller, Indianapolis Warren Central four-star EDGE Damien Shanklin, Marion (Ark.) four-star interior offensive lineman Carius Curne and Houston North Shore four-star linebacker Charles Ross.

2. Ohio State — 92.39

3 five-stars | 15 four-stars | 5 three-stars | 23 total commits
Top Commit: Houston North Shore Five-Star Plus+ CB Devin Sanchez, No. 4 NATL. (No. 1 CB).

The top cornerback in the 2025 class, Devin Sanchez, pledged to Ohio State at the All-American Bowl on January 6. He rates as a Five-Star Plus+ prospect alongside fellow commits Tavien St. Clair, Bellefontaine (Ohio) QB, and Na’eem Offord — Birmingham (Ala.) Parker cornerback.

Elite McKinney (Texas) linebacker Riley Pettijohn joined the Buckeyes earlier this month and ranks inside the top 100 like Toledo Whitmer offensive tackle Carter Lowe, Olney (Md.) Good Counsel safety Faheem Delane, Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic wide receiver Quincy Porter, Philadelphia Imhotep Institute EDGE Zahir Mathis, Port Saint Lucie (Fla.) Vero Beach linebacker Tarvos Alford and Cleveland Villa Angela-St. Joseph athlete Bo Jackson.

3. Oregon — 92.35

2 five-stars | 13 four-stars | 1 three-star | 16 total commits
Top Commit: Duncanville (Texas) Five-Star Plus+ WR Dakorien Moore, No. 3 NATL. (No. 1 WR).

Dakorien Moore, the top receiver in the class, committed to Oregon on the Fourth of July just over a month after decommitting from LSU. He and Tampa Bay Tech five-star receiver Dallas Wilson headline an elite receiver corps that also includes Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North four-star Isaiah Mozee and Scottsdale (Ariz.) Notre Dame Prep four-star Cooper Perry.

Conroe (Texas) elite cornerback Dorian Brew chose the Ducks over Ohio State and USC at the end of June. Owings Mills (Md.) McDonogh four-star cornerback Brandon Finney ranks inside the top 100 and Derby (Kan.) tight end DaSaahn Brame sits just outside at No. 101.

4. Alabama — 91.78

Top Commit: Denton (Texas) Ryan five-star OT Ty Haywood, No. 11 NATL. (No. 2 OT).

Ty Haywood chose the Crimson Tide just earlier this week, joining a loaded group of five-stars. That group also features Ackerman (Miss.) Choctaw County five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham, Mission Viejo (Calif.) five-star cornerback Dijon Lee and Duncanville (Texas) five-star quarterback Keelon Russell.

The Tide won a big recruiting battle over Ohio State by landing Cincinnati Winton Woods star four-star pass rusher Justin Hill on July 3. Other top-100 commits include Eastman (Ga.) Dodge County athlete Darrell Johnson, Selma (Ala.) Southside athlete Derick Smith, Doylestown (Pa.) Central Bucks East interior offensive lineman Michael Carroll, Santan Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei cornerback Chuck McDonald and Carmel (Calif.) offensive tackle Jackson Lloyd.

5. Georgia — 91.73

3 five-stars | 15 four-stars | 2 three-stars | 20 total commits
Top Commit: Warner Robins (Ga.) five-star EDGE Isaiah Gibson, No. 19 NATL. (No. 1 EDGE).

Former USC commit Isaiah Gibson headlines this class for the ‘Dawgs alongside Folkston (Ga.) Camden County five-star tight end Elyiss Williams and Ellaville (Ga.) Schley County five-star linebacker Zayden Walker.

Chester (Va.) Thomas Dale four-star cornerback Shamari Earls committed to Georgia earlier this month, joining Geneva (Ill.) top-50 wide receiver Talyn Taylor and Hillside (N.J.) four-star EDGE Darren Ikinnagbon in the top 100.

6. Florida State — 91.63

1 five-star | 9 four-stars | 2 three-stars | 12 total commits
Top Commit: Jacksonville (Fla.) Raines five-star IOL Solomon Thomas, No. 13 NATL. (No. 1 IOL).

Florida State holds a comparatively small but mighty class with 12 commits — 10 of which are blue-chip recruits. Solomon Thomas features as the lone five-star in the class, joined by Cocoa (Fla.) four-star EDGE Javion Hilson, Milton (Ga.) four-star wide receiver CJ Wiley and Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy four-star wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon in the top 100.

7. Clemson — 91.34

0 five-stars | 9 four-stars | 4 three-stars | 13 total commits
Top Commit: Durham (N.C.) Southern four-star DL Isaiah Campbell, No. 39 NATL. (No. 4 DL).

Isaiah Campbell and Norfolk (Va.) Maury four-star EDGE Ari Watford both rank inside the On3 Industry Ranking top 100. Lake City (S.C.) South Florence four-star defensive lineman Amare Adams was one of the earliest prospects to commit to Clemson, doing so in December.

Top-100 commits, Cedartown (Ga.) four-star safety Tae Harris and Lynchburg (Va.) Liberty Christian four-star running back Gideon Davidson pledged to the Tigers in March and June, respectively.

8. Michigan — 90.50

Top Commit: Oak Park (Ill.) Fenwick four-star DL Nate Marshall, No. 54 NATL. (No. 5 DL).

Things were slow on the recruiting trail for Michigan in the months following the departure of former head coach Jim Harbaugh, but Sherrone Moore & Co. have turned on the jets since April when the Wolverines landed Nate Marshall.

Since Marshall’s commitment, Michigan has received pledges from former Notre Dame safety commit Ivan Taylor, Center Valley (Pa.) Southern Lehigh four-star tight end Andrew Olesh, Montgomery Village (Md.) Gonzaga four-star safety Kainoa Winston, Palatine (Ill.) four-star defensive lineman Jaylen Williams and more.

9. Texas A&M — 90.41

1 five-star | 12 four-stars | 6 three-stars | 19 total commits
Top Commit: Corona (Calif.) Centennial five-star QB Husan Longstreet, No. 25 NATL. (No. 4 QB).

Elite 11 Finalist quarterback Husan Longstreet is the centerpiece of this top-10 Aggies class. He’s surrounded on offense by playmakers like Jasper (Texas) four-star tight end Kiotti Armstrong, Houston Hitchcock four-star wide receiver Kelshaun Johnson and DeSoto (Texas) four-star running back Deondrae Riden.

Mike Elko’s defensive class might be even more impressive, with commitments from Lancaster (Calif.) Quartz Hill top-100 cornerback Adonyss Currie, La Verne (Calif.) Bonita four-star linebacker Noah Mikhail, Danville (Calif.) San Ramon Valley four-star EDGE Marco Jones and Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek four-star cornerback Cobey Sellers.

10. Texas — 90.33

Top Commit: Texarkana (Texas) Pleasant Grove four-star EDGE Lance Jackson, No. 37 NATL. (No. 2 EDGE).

Lance Jackson was one of the earliest to commit to Texas, preceded only by Saraland (Ala.) four-star quarterback K.J. Lacey and Calhoun (Ga.) four-star tight end Emaree Winston. Jackson is joined in the top 100 by Houston Alief Hastings EDGE Smith Orogbo and Dallas Skyline linebacker Elijah Barnes.
