Year after year, LSU excels at bringing the best high school football players in the state of Louisiana to Baton Rouge. This year, that is no different with Metairie (La.) St. Martin’s Episcopal running back Harlem Berry — a five-star prospect ranked No. 18 overall in the final 2025 On300 rankings on Thursday.

The final edition of the 2025 On300 features 32 five-star prospects, up from 25 in the previous update in November.

Harlem Berry committed to LSU very early on in the 2025 recruiting cycle and his pledge never wavered. He stuck with the Tigers wire-to-wire, signing with the Purple and Gold on Dec. 4.

“Coach Kelly calls me the best running back, the best in the state, and he’s very complimentary. Everything he talks about — how he wants to use, the energy he gives — it’s very complimentary,” Berry told On3.

“It makes me feel like if I go there, they’d play me and I would excel on the team,” he continued. “There’s no place like home.”

Berry is one of three On3 five-star prospects to sign with LSU this cycle and one of 12 Tigers in the final edition of the On300.

Louisiana’s Gatorade Player of the Year will stay in the state’s borders

Berry was named Louisiana’s Gatorade Player of the Year after amassing 2,178 yards and 41 touchdowns on the ground as a senior. Over his career, Berry ran for 8,571 yards and 142 touchdowns.

“Harlem has been the best player on that football team since his freshman year,” St. Martin’s head coach Lee Roussel said of Berry. “His elite speed is what makes him scary with the football. He can impact the game anywhere he lines up.”

On3’s scouting and rankings team likens the star Bayou State tailback to Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush.

“Harlem Berry’s elite top-end speed, functional movement skills and running style in the open field remind us of Reggie Bush. There are also shades of Jamaal Charles and Jahmyr Gibbs in his game.”
