LSU is keeping another local player home in its 2025 recruiting class after Baton Rouge (La.) Catholic four-star safety Jacob Bradford announced that he has committed to the Tigers.

Bradford had previously been committed to Houston since June, but backed off that pledge on October 10 and will now join the Tigers’ No. 3 class in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder is the No. 388 overall prospect and No. 36 safety in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 14 player in The Boot.

The Tigers offered him a scholarship at the end of July. Since then, he has taken in a game at Tiger Stadium and returned for an official visit with LSU during its bye week.

“LSU did an outstanding job hosting the Louisiana recruits during their official visit,” Bradford told On3 after his most recent visit. “All the young men were familiar with one another, and the families had strong connections as well. It’s incredible to see how much elite talent is concentrated in one state.”

Tigers looking to add another Bradford in next year’s class as well

His younger brother, Blaine Bradford, is On3’s No. 9 overall prospect and top-ranked safety in the 2026 cycle and is also trending to the hometown program. Both were in to see LSU defeat UCLA last month, and their father gave high remarks when speaking with On3’s Steve Wiltfong about the visit.

“LSU stands high with the Bradfords,” Stacy Bradford said. “Blaine and Jacob are Baton Rouge kids, and will always love LSU no matter what decision is made. These two young men have done a great job with the recruiting process. I am so happy with how they are juggling life, school and football. We would be satisfied with any choice they make. It is on them at this point.”

The older Bradford gives them a fifth defensive back commitment in this class, joining five-star cornerback DJ Pickett, four-star corner Kade Phillips, On300 safety Jhase Thomas, and four-star cornerback Aidan Anding.

In total, the Tigers are up to 27 commitments this cycle and have pledged from eight of the state’s top 13 recruits with five-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart still out there as a target.
