Report: LSU, Oklahoma to lose home-and-home series
Oklahoma scheduling took a hit on Wednesday, losing some of its planned, marquee nonconference matchups. The SEC told Georgia and Tennessee to drop the Sooners from their respective future schedules, citing the two becoming conference teammates soon. Now, it appears as if LSU is next up.
LSU and Oklahoma will not play their previously-scheduled home-and-home series against one another, LSU executive deputy athletic director Verge Ausberry confirmed to Matt Moscona. The matchups were set to take place in 2027 and 2028, with Norman originally being the site of the first one.

From the Tigers’ perspective, Ausberry also told Moscona that a Power Five program will be the replacement, no matter how the SEC sets up the schedule in the future.
“(Ausberry) says they have already been working on non-conference options to replace OU. Says he expects to play a P5 school regardless of SEC schedule model,” Moscona said via Twitter.
There is no rumored replacement for Oklahoma yet. Although, they did announce their own home-and-home series with SMU on Monday. Had the LSU game remained intact, the Sooners would have been in Dallas a week before hosting the Tigers.

More on history between Oklahoma, LSU
Fans will have nothing to fear in the long run. LSU and Oklahoma will wind up playing each other a lot more than twice in the future. With the Sooners moving to the SEC in upcoming seasons, the two historic programs should have some fun battles.
Only three matchups have occurred between the two, with the last being a 2019 College Football Playoff semifinal in Atlanta. The Tigers also won the 2003 National Championship over Oklahoma with a Nick Saban vs. Bob Stoops showdown taking place.
Oklahoma has one win in the series, coming all the way back in 1950. The folks in Norman will be hoping to get back on the board once officially in the SEC.
