Prior to cutting his list to two, Pinson also received interest from Kentucky, Michigan State, Missouri, Arizona State, and others.

The 6-foot-2 Chicago native averaged 9.8 points, 2.4 rebounds. and 4.8 assists during his lone season at LSU. Prior to landing in Baton Rouge, Pinson played three seasons at Mizzou, where he averaged 13.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists during his junior year.

Xavier Pinson is a senior but will use his one remaining year of eligibility due to COVID-19 elsewhere. He entered the transfer portal last month after LSU’s head coach Will Wade was fired.

Coming out of high school, Pinson was considered a consensus three-star recruit. He played at Simeon before choosing Missouri over scholarship offers from Dayton, DePaul, Georgetown, Memphis, and Wisconsin.
