Luther Burden injury update: Missouri WR status revealed during Wednesday injury report
Auburn is coming off an off week. And, in a way, so is Missouri — after all, last week Missouri blew out a UMass squad that has yet to score more than 23 points against an FBS opponent this year and that has beaten only FCS Central Connecticut this season.
Both Auburn and Missouri are resuming SEC play Saturday in Columbia.
Auburn is still searching for its first SEC win. No. 19 Missouri, meanwhile, is looking to climb back up the rankings — it’s still recovering from a 41-10 beatdown at Texas A&M in Week 6. That 31-point defeat dropped head coach Eli Drinkwitz’s team from No. 9 to No. 21.
Midway through the 2024 season, neither team is completely healthy. Both Auburn and Missouri released injury reports Wednesday night.

Jacobs left the UMass game with an arm injury, whereas Moore went down in the week leading up the road trip to Amherst, Massachusetts.
Jacobs transferred in from South Alabama this offseason. He recorded five pressures in six games, according to Pro Football Focus, tied for the seventh most on the team. Plus, he’s tied for 11th on the team with 14 total tackles, and he’s second with a pair of sacks.
Moore, on the other hand, had played fewer defensive snaps (74) than Jacobs (139), per PFF. Part of a deep defensive end rotation, Moore notched six pressures in his five games before injury, according to PFF.
Luckily for Missouri, it’s expecting starting linebacker Triston Newson to return Saturday against Auburn. Newson missed the UMass game but has 18 total tackles to his name this year, including eight solos.
