July has become one of the biggest months of the year on the recruiting trail for commitments, and that is holding true in the 2025 cycle as well.

More than 100 prospects have already committed to Power 4 schools through the first two weeks of the month, and even more are expected to come off the board in the final two. In the next three days alone, one of the nation’s 12 remaining uncommitted five-stars will announce a decision, along with a handful of coveted defensive prospects and two elite wide receivers.

With the help of the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), we break down what schools to watch as commitment time rolls around:

July 19

5-star SAF Trey McNutt
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 20
On3 RPM: Oregon 93.2%, USC 1.3%, Ohio State <1%

The Skinny: The Shaker Heights (Ohio) five-star safety will decide on Friday between Florida, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas A&M and USC. The Ducks are again trending there in the On3 RPM, with multiple picks in their favor. And McNutt has spoken highly of them.

“Coach Lanning he’s a different type of coach,” he told On3’s Steve Wiltfong on Sunday. “And he’s a different type of person. Oregon and their program is on the uprise and going into this season I feel like they’re going to make some moves.”

July 20

4-star WR Derek Meadows
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 41
On3 RPM: Notre Dame 53.6%, LSU 38.4%

The Skinny: Meadows was set to commit last weekend on July 13, and all signs pointed to LSU being the landing spot. He instead pushed his commitment date back a week, and it looks to be a showdown between the Tigers and Notre Dame, who have been one of the leaders in his recruitment for nearly a year. Earlier this week, Wiltfong gave the slight edge to LSU but this one could go all the way down to the wire on Saturday.

4-star CB Jaboree Antoine
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 87
On3 RPM: Miami 63.9%, LSU 33.4%

The Skinny: Antoine decommitted from LSU a little less than a month ago and set a new commitment date a few weeks after. Florida State, Miami and the Tigers became his top three schools, but now he is only focused on LSU and Miami. The Hurricanes are trending in the RPM, but don’t sleep on LSU for an in-state target — especially now with Corey Raymond back in the secondary coach role.

4-star EDGE Bryce Davis
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 71
On3 RPM: Clemson 88.5%, Duke 3.5%, South Carolina 2.6%

The Skinny: Davis took official visits to Duke, South Carolina, Georgia and Clemson. And while the other three programs have made this one interesting, the Tigers are trending to close down one of the top players in the Carolinas.

4-star IOL Cortez Smith
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 157
On3 RPM: Georgia 95.6%, South Carolina 1.5%

The Skinny: Georgia, Georgia Tech, Miami and South Carolina are the finalists for Smith, a massive offensive linemen from the Peach State. The Bulldogs have been trending since he visited in March, and nothing has moved the momentum off of Kirby Smart and Co.

4-star LB Christian Gass
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 225
On3 RPM: Tennessee 81.3%, Georgia 4.6%

The Skinny: Gass is unofficially down to Georgia, Tennessee and USC a few days out from his decision. He took official visits to all three programs this summer. And while the Bulldogs are the in-state school, it’s the Vols who are trending after an expert prediction from On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons on Friday.

3-star DL Floyd Boucard
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 453
On3 RPM: Oklahoma 79.9%, USC 16.1%

The Skinny: Oklahoma and USC are the programs most connected to Boucard, according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong.

“USC was the major team to beat coming out of his official visit, but Oklahoma grabbed some of that momentum late in the process,” Wiltfong said earlier this week. And on Thursday he and Chad Simmons added predictions for the Sooners.

July 21

4-star WR Vernell Brown III
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 33
On3 RPM: Florida 87.8%, Ohio State 9.2%, Miami 1.3%

The Skinny: Brown’s finalists are FloridaFlorida StateMiami and Ohio StateAfter taking official visits to all four, the No. 33 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking is ready to put an end to his recruitment this weekend. During the spring, the Buckeyes were though of as the favorites to land him. But the Gators — the school his father played for — made a big move this summer and are trending to add him to their class.
